VALID UNTIL: Tuesday midday (12:00 LST) October 20, 2020

 WEATHER:

This afternoon: Fair to partly cloudy with a few showers possible.

Tonight through Tuesday midday: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times with isolated showers.

 Forecast High: 32°C / 90°F             Forecast Low: 26°C / 79°F

Sunset Today: 5:47 P.M.                 Sunrise Tomorrow: 6:07 A.M.

SURFACE WINDS:  This afternoon through Tuesday midday: Northwesterly to westerly with a light breeze of 04 to 07 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times.

SYNOPSIS:   A fairly dry airmass will restrict significant shower activity across the region today. However, daytime heating and pockets of moisture being transported across the region by light winds, could trigger a few showers. A slack pressure gradient will account for light and variable winds.   Seas will remain slight through the next 24 hours; however by late Tuesday into Wednesday, swells are expected to increase due to the proximity of a newly developed tropical storm.

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 7 feet

SPECIAL FEATURES:  Tropical Storm Epsilon formed this morning at 11:00am and poses no (direct) threat to St. Maarten.    The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system.

OUTLOOK through Wednesday midday: Partly cloudy with local showers possible.
