WEATHER:  This afternoon through Thursday midday: Fair to partly cloudy with a few showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS: This afternoon through Thursday midday: South to south southeast with a light to gentle breeze of 04 to 10 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times.

 

 

SYNOPSIS: The combination of light southerly winds generated by a weak Atlantic high pressure ridge and daytime heating, may cause a few showers across the region.

 

Swells generated by Hurricane Epsilon will cause seas to peak at 9 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

 

 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate to rough         WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet

 

 

SPECIAL FEATURES:  Hurricane Epsilon continues to move away from the local region. This system does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.

 

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system.
