This afternoon through Tuesday midday: Generally fair to partly cloudy with brief localize showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS:        
This afternoon: Northeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 09 to 15 mph. 
Tonight through Tuesday midday: Northeasterly to east northeasterly with a light to gentle breeze of 04 to 10 mph. Becoming lighter and variable at times. 

SYNOPSIS:   
The weakened Atlantic high-pressure system will influence dry conditions and decreasing winds across the region. 

Large period swells generated by major hurricane Larry will produce hazardous sea conditions through mid-week. Consequently, high surf and small craft advisories remain in effect for St. Maarten until further notice. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise extreme caution.     

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough      WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 10 feet      

SPECIAL FEATURES:    

At 11:00 am, major hurricane Larry continued along its northwest track, further away from St. Maarten. On its current forecast path, Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.   

OUTLOOK through Wednesday midday: Fair to partly cloudy with a brief shower possible.
