SURFACE WINDS:

 

Remainder of today: Easterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 20 mph, and occasional higher gusts.

 

Monday: Southeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 08 to 16 mph.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:   The dominant Atlantic high-pressure system is supporting a dry atmosphere and brisk winds that will continue to keep sea conditions elevated. Additionally, the presence of Saharan dust will aid in restricting precipitation. Persons with respiratory illnesses and/or allergies should take the necessary precautions. Marine conditions will remain moderate to rough through the next couple of days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue exercising caution.

 

 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate to rough          WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet

 

 

SPECIAL FEATURES:  Tropical Storm Eta continues to move further away from the island and does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.
