This afternoon through Saturday midday: East-northeasterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 18 mph and higher gusts. 

SYNOPSIS:   

Moisture associated with a recent tropical wave will cause showers and cloudy periods during this forecast period. Meanwhile, a tight pressure gradient will account for brisk winds.   

Large northeasterly to easterly swells are predicted to impact regional waters, resulting in seas peaking at 8 feet. Hence, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for St. Maarten through the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
