The dominant Atlantic high-pressure ridge is generating brisk winds. Pockets of low-level moisture associated with a low-level trough approaching the region will increase the chances for passing showers.

A long period northeasterly swell is causing hazardous sea conditions. Consequently, a high surf advisory will be in effect for St. Maarten until Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, a small craft advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
