MARIGOT–One of St. Martin’s oldest radio stations, Radio St. Martin 101.5FM, is experiencing some technical difficulties after its antenna fell at its site last week Wednesday, causing major damage to the equipment, and the station immediately went off the air.

Management announced on Monday that they had ordered parts to repair the antenna and they should arrive on island from Martinique by Friday coming. “We do apologise for the inconvenience caused and will be back on air soon,” stated the press release from the station.

A number of listeners have been calling the station to find out what was going on and how long the station will be off the air. Station owner François Hunt said that unfortunately the parts to fix the equipment were not available on the island and they had been immediately ordered off-island. He hopes technicians will fix the problem by Friday and the station can continue its operations. He thanked those who made contact with radio management and showed concern.
