Ramona Connor to replace Richardson, Whit’s campaign accounts also rejected

001-1

MARIGOT–Horace Whit, leader of Soualiga Movement in the 2017 Territorial Council Elections, emerged the third casualty over the weekend to have his election campaign accounts not validated, following those of Alain Richardson and Jules Charville.

Whit has also been rendered ineligible for any election for one year and will not get his expenses reimbursed. Whit did not have his campaign accounts presented by a chartered accountant as required by law and paid his own expenses.

The State Council confirmed that Ramona Connor, the number two on the list of “En Marche vers le Progrès” (MVP) will replace Alain Richardson.

The Council had upheld the decisions by National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing (CNCCFP) not to validate the accounts of Richardson, Charville and now Whit due to irregularities, and will not reimburse their expenses. All three are ineligible for one year.

Abigail Pavot was the number two on Jules Charville’s Generation Hope list when it was presented at the end of February 2017. The number two on the Soualiga Movement list was Diane Felix.
