Another contract for the continuation of the Home Repair Programme was signed recently by National Recovery Program Bureau Director Claret Connor with Roberto I. Arrindell, Confident Construction BV Managing Director.

The first batch of the repairs covers some 14 homes in Dutch Quarter, Mount William Hill, Middle Region, Sucker Garden, St. Peters, South Reward and Cay Bay. Homeowners have received a preparation package to make sure that they know what will happen to their house and what is be required of them. The programme registration closed on April 26. Social assessments of applicants are being finalized by the Bureau. This cover being a legal St. Maarten resident, legal owner of property and a monthly income of no more than NAf. 4,000. Some 175 houses qualified for support. Applicants are continually updated by social assessors. The technical teams are busy assessing the requirement of each house. This project is part of the St Maarten Recovery Reconstruction and Resilience Trust Fund, financed by the Netherlands and managed by the World Bank.
