MARIGOT–Director General of the French Red Cross Jean-Christophe Combe will be visiting the French Antilles from March 18 to 22, a visit that includes St. Martin and St. Barths. He will provide an update on post-emergency operations carried out in the Northern islands and give details of new arrangements to be deployed for the territories.
He will begin his visit to Martinique where he will launch, on Monday, March 19, the activities of the new “Espace Croix-Rouge” located in Quartier des Terres Sainville in Fort-de-France in the presence of the President of the Territorial Delegation of the Red Cross of Martinique.
The Director General will continue his visit to Quartier Dillon to inaugurate the new premises of the LAJ Martinique Centre.
This “Lieu d’ Accueil de Jour” is a structure open to all whose facilities offer multi-disciplinary support for people and responses to the specific problems of target groups of the French Red Cross (help for victims, platform for migrants, support for parenting, etc.).
In St. Martin, on Tuesday, March 20, he will launch the activities of the Food Aid Action and will hand over, at the end of the day, to the Territorial Delegation of the Red Cross of St. Martin, the keys to a First Aid Vehicle for the people.
This vehicle, donated by the local Red Cross chapter of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in Martinique, will enable volunteers from St. Martin to reinforce the deployment of its emergency and first aid activities in the territory.
He will also renew a partnership agreement with the President of Liasions Dangereuses Ketty Karam.
On Wednesday, March 21, the Director General will go to Gustavia, St. Barths, to meet with President of the Collectivité Bruno Magras. After a visit of all the activities of the Territorial Red Cross Delegation of St. Barths he will return to Guadeloupe for a meeting there with all volunteers.
