Regatta Village opens in Port de Plaisance

 COLE BAY–The 38th St. Maarten Heineken Regatta features the new Regatta Village at event hosting sponsor Port de Plaisance.

The Regatta Village is open today, Wednesday, until 8:00pm and on racing days as soon as the sailors get off the water till the concerts end.

The Village will bring together docking, registration, regatta offices, food stands, bars, (merchandise) vendors and entertainment. The Village, located on the grass area in front of the North Marina of Yacht Club Port de Plaisance will offer live-entertainment every afternoon from 3.30pm with performances from JonnyGuy, Alfredo, Tanya & Amin, Stell & Snuggs and Franco & Lee. It is also the venue for the prize-giving ceremony on Friday and Saturday at 6:00pm.

A Regatta Marketplace will be set up under the big tent with an array of arts and craft vendors. An Art Exhibition is featured under the same tent. The marketplace opens from tomorrow, Thursday to Sunday, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.

Sol Water Taxi service ensures sailors and boaters get from their vessels to the venue. Water shuttles run between St. Maarten Yacht Club and Port de Plaisance. Ample parking is available on the premise for vehicles.
