Culture and commerce go hand-in-hand at the Library’s annual Christmas Market.
PHILIPSBURG–Philipsburg Jubilee Library will host its annual Christmas Market at the Library’s parking lot from 10:00am to 8:00pm Thursday, December 21.
The annual Christmas Market will host crafters from all over St. Maarten, displaying their arts and creative works. Individual decorated stands will offer handcrafted goods where shoppers can find one-of-a-kind gifts and decorations.
To make this event a success, the Library invites interested persons to come out and register. Persons who would like to display or sell their arts and crafts, baskets, liqueurs, and cakes should register by December 12.
The Library suffered from the passing of Hurricanes Irma and Maria on September 6 and 9. Due to damage to the library’s structure and equipment a temporary solution was created to accommodate loyal customers by using the entrance hall; hence the usage of the parking area for the upcoming Christmas Market.
Due to the constraints following the damage incurred by the hurricanes, the number of available tables and chairs will be limited. Therefore, vendors are invited to make their own provisions for materials, if possible.
The Library also reminds the community of its opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
The grace period to waive fees for all overdue books and lost and damaged items due to the passing of the hurricanes will last until the end of December 2017.
