MARIGOT–Repairers of Broken Walls International Ministries will host the first of its self-development series today, Friday. Pastor Brenda Abbott-Gumbs is encouraging everyone to come out to Galisbay, St. Martin, opposite the Bethany Home.
The first event will be dubbed “How to Score Your Job and Purpose.” One speaker will be author Darren Wilson, whose general aim is to help, encourage and motivate others locally and globally to never stop learning and to instil a sense of pride and worth in other young men and women. He intends to make a positive contribution to their communities and help build a better world for future generations.
The other speaker will be Edsel Gumbs, the 2016 winner of the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) Business Plan Writing Competition. Gumbs holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing. In addition to being the winner of COCI’s business plan writing competition 2016, he has been recognised by Rotaract as “Man of the year 2016” for his services. He is also a banker and a lecturer.
There will also be a skit featuring the do’s and don’ts of a job interview and complimentary gourmet cupcakes by local pastry chef Cassidy Walker of “Taste” for all attendees.
The event is anticipated, as most persons lack the tools to achieve their ultimate purpose.
