Roaming livestock

Concerns about the danger of roaming livestock came to a sad conclusion on Saturday evening when a cow tried to jump over a passing car in the vicinity of Caribbean Auto on Union Road.

Unlike the children’s nursery rhyme where the cow jumped over the moon and was safe, this cow’s jump resulted in two broken front legs.

The cow had to be put down by the vet under the supervision of police. Two cars were damaged in the unfortunate incident. There were no human injuries. The incident highlights the call by many residents about the danger of roaming animals and the need for tagging to better identify owners. (Photo courtesy of Ernest Sams).
