In videos widely circulated on social media, a car was seen parked in front containing four individuals. The getaway driver stayed behind in what looks like a silver compact SUV, while the three other men were seen approaching the jewellery store dressed in dark clothing. One would-be robber wielded an axe, another held a small sledgehammer while the last was holding what seemed to be a gun and a plastic bag.

The robbers attempted to gain access to the store, but the store personnel appeared to have activated the rolling system shutter. As it was coming down the robbers used the axe and the sledgehammer to try to break through the glass, without success.

They fled the scene in the direction of Mullet Bay. Details surrounding the incident, including what was damaged and whether anyone was injured, have not been made immediately available at press time.
