PHILIPSBURG–Members of the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset collaborated with members of the Learning Unlimited Preparatory School and Milton Peters College Interact Clubs to conduct tree planting activities at their respective schools during World Interact Week, celebrated November 5-11.
“We chose to plant a tree as it symbolises the youth programme of Rotary Interact. Interactors are the future, and we need to care and nurture them into leaders of tomorrow who will carry on the mantle of Rotary’s values,” said Youth Service Director Ruminni Rogers on Tuesday.
Members also wore purple during the planting activity in recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset and the Learning Unlimited and Milton Peters College Interact Clubs expressed gratitude to Greenfingers for contributing the plants and soil for the tree planting activities. Special recognition was also given to Rotary Club of St. Maarten Interact Advisors Adelina Schaap-Chandler, Melanie Daboul, and Dimple Naresh Sagre for their assistance.
Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset pledged to continue lending its support to the Interactors as they continue to selflessly serve the community.
