COLE BAY–In efforts to promote economic and community development, Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset embarked on a mission to assist persons in the community with the reconstruction of their homes that were damaged by Hurricane Irma which devastated the island in September 2017.
The club collaborated with ACE Hardware Center, which donated vouchers recipients can use to obtain building materials. Two persons were chosen by the club to be the recipients of the vouchers, as both recipients and their families lost everything during the storm and they were having challenges with rebuilding their homes.
The recipients both expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset and ACE Hardware Center for the assistance rendered during their time of need. Both were presented with the vouchers at the ACE Hardware Center in the presence of Center representative Ramadan Alhableh.
St. Martin Sunset thanked ACE Hardware Center for its generous contribution and support of this initiative. The club would also like to encourage other hardware stores on the island and the business community at large to pledge their support to this initiative so that families that are still in need of urgent assistance can be reached.
