AIRPORT–Safe Cargo Services personnel were caught by surprise on Friday evening while still in the building close to 8:00pm when a white Hyundai Elantra with tinted dark windows drove up to the building on Airport Boulevard and a man dressed in black stormed into the building and demanded cash from the staff.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was carrying a machine gun and took cash, car keys and cell phones from them.
In the robber’s haste to get away, the white Elantra hit two vehicles off the road. One of the vehicles ended up near Simpson Bay Lagoon. The drivers of both vehicles were not hurt in the collisions.
Police arrived at Safe Cargo Services immediately and started their investigation. Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said the police had started to search for the robber’s vehicle and want anyone who has information about the robbery to contact them. He said an undisclosed of money had been taken from the business.
