ST. EUSTATIUS–The Participation Council (Medezeggenschapsraad) of Lynch Plantation Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) School has assisted parents with school uniforms. This venture was part of a project for poverty reduction submitted by the Council to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.

The children’s parents welcomed Tuesday’s distribution of one complete set of school uniforms and one set of gym uniforms among pupils.

Participation Council Secretary and school teacher Sharon Van Putten-Blair said the children will also benefit from the Digital Kids project.

The Council has acquired tablets which will be used in school and at home by children who need special assistance in different subject areas in their educational development.

SDA School and parents will receive guidelines for the tablet use so that this can be implemented properly for accountability, management and maintenance.

The Participation Council extended its gratitude to the Ministry for providing the funds and to parents for their cooperation and support.

Besides Van Putten, the SDA Participation Council consists of President Curdi Lewis, Vice-President and teacher Jasmin Herbert, Assistant Secretary Isolda Jarvis and members Theola Schmidt and teacher Cheryl Seaton.
