It was a case of deja vu when another garbage collector was injured by an oncoming vehicle on L.B. Scott Road near Dollar Store Thursday evening. (John Halley photo)
A brown SUV slammed into the rear of the garbage truck, injuring one of the two garbage collectors who were picking up garbage at the back of the truck.
The collector did not sustain major injuries, but the driver of the SUV complained of pain in the neck and foot. Paramedics treated both persons on the scene and police cordoned off the area when they arrived.
The driver of the SUV was escorted home by police after the incident took place.
A white Hyundai Getz slammed into the rear of the same company’s garbage truck on L.B. Scott Road on December 11, seriously injuring one collector. The man suffered a broken leg and was brought to the Emergency Room for further treatment.
Motorists are requested to pay attention on the roads to prevent traffic accidents.
