Visiting passengers of “MS Serenissima” posing for a photo at Vincent A. Lopes Legislative Hall.
St. EUSTATIUS–MS Serenissima paid a visit to St. Eustatius on Thursday, during which 87 passengers disembarked from the ship to participate in on-island activities throughout the day.
Of those passengers, 55 embarked on historical walking tours throughout the historical core, as well as some of the known attractions on the island.
One tour group visited the grounds of the Government Guesthouse. While touring the premises, the group encountered Deputy Government Commissioner Mervyn Stegers, who invited the tour group to visit the upstairs of the building, Vincent A. Lopes Legislative hall. The Government Guesthouse and grounds recently underwent renovations.
The visitors were so excited and enthusiastic about being able to go inside the building that they took numerous photos and selfies to memorize the occasion.
The tour concluded at the St. Eustatius Historical Foundation Museum, where the visitors were able to browse the historical artefacts. The Serenissima departed Statia later during the evening.
