PHILIPSBURG–St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA) will host its second all-encompassing Job Fair on October 29 at University of St. Martin (USM) from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with businesses from various sectors, but mainly hospitality establishments, as well as job placement agencies, learn about their vacancies and get general information about the types of jobs available.
Job seekers are encouraged to register online on SHTA’s website. Registration only takes a few minutes and the possibility of uploading a résumé will be available online. Participating businesses can pre-select candidates, based on their résumés for interviews to be conducted prior to or on the day of the fair.
As part of preparation and to encourage job seekers to be properly honed for the application and interview process, the Job Fair will also include free educational sessions on interview skills, résumé writing, and other critical skills to secure employment.
The educational session will include information on how to present yourself for an interview, as well as tips and techniques to best communicate and sell yourself as a candidate for the job you are seeking.
USM will be on hand to provide information about upgrading of academic and practical skills.
Businesses interested in the Job Fair can register on SHTA’s website. Registration fee is US $100 for SHTA members and US $200 for non-SHTA members.
Already registered for the event are the Department of Labour, Maho Group of Companies, Divi Little Bay Resort, Oyster Bay Beach Resort, Simpson Bay Resort and Windward Roads Infrastructure.
