DUTCH QUARTER–The foster home run by I Can Foundation recently received a boost for its planned transitional home from Arrindell Aviation by Signature Flight Support.

The aviation company, based at Princess Juliana International Airport, donated US $1,500 to aid the Foundation’s project and plans to make similar donations in the next three quarters of the year.

Company General Manager Matumi said Signature Flight Support is passionate about causes linked to aviation, education and engineering. “The goal of I Can to create a transitional home for older foster children to live and learn life skills on their way to adulthood was a perfect fit for us,” he said.

I Can has started the initial work on the home to be located on the upper floor of the existing foster home in Dutch Quarter with support from some businesses and individuals. The contribution of Arrindell Aviation by Signature is another step in the process, Shigemoto said.

After a year of contributions by Arrindell Aviation by Signature to the foster home, the aviation company can apply to its parent BBA Aviation company for a grant of US $10,000 or more for the I Can project. The local team will compete with others forming part of the international company to get as large of a grant as possible for its chosen cause.

Shigemoto commended the I Can team for their attention and care for their charges and pledges continued support for the transitional home project.
