Sixteen pallets of relief supplies unloaded Mon.

Pallets being unloaded on Monday.

ANGUILLA–Just a week after Hurricane Irma devastated Anguilla a group of people set up a campaign consolidated by Amazon and called Amazon Wish List. They were able to quickly get in needed supplies to the island and were sanctioned by Disaster Management, the Government of Anguilla and non-governmental organisations.

Kemroy Herbert was the main organiser and on Monday he was there to help unload 16 more pallets of goods. The items are shipped to Anguilla from Miami, Florida, and some are now being flown in to the island.

At first the items included basic food and water, mosquito nets, charcoal, pampers and more but now also include building supplies and tools. Community leaders are identifying the people most in need of the relief, which is being delivered throughout the island. The supplies are donated by Anguillians and friends of Anguilla in the USA and are imported duty-free.
