Small craft, high surf warnings in effect | THE DAILY HERALD

AIRPORT–Due to the proximity of Tropical Storm Leslie, small craft and high surf warnings were issued for St Maarten on Sunday evening by the Meteorological Department. Seas are forecast to gradually subside, beginning Monday morning.

Though there has been some improvement, sea conditions remain hazardous with waves peaking near nine feet and long period swells invading local waters through Sunday night.
Sea bathers should avoid swimming. Small craft operators and persons with interests along the coast should continue to exercise extreme caution. Some coastal flooding is also possible.
