CAY HILL–St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) received a boost with the addition of Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Nader Dayerizadeh to the team of medical specialists at the institution.
Dayerizadeh will be leading the new Orthopaedic Clinic at the medical facility. SMMC said this is yet another medical specialty now available on island reinforcing SMMC’s aim to provide quality care close to home for patients on St. Maarten and surrounding islands.
Dayerizadeh obtained his medical degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (a medical university in the Netherlands) and later attended University Hospital in Ghent, Belgium, where he received his degree in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology.
In his practice, Dayerizadeh performs a variety of Orthopaedic procedures. His expertise includes an array of the latest surgical techniques and procedures to effectively treat acute and chronic Orthopaedic injuries and conditions. He specialises in trauma surgery as well as in hip, shoulder and knee surgery. He also has experience in paediatric treatments, fracture treatments and foot and ankle disorders.
“My goal is to ensure that my patients receive the best level of care possible. This is achieved through developing personalised treatments where we can best address their issues. I look forward to the continued growth and development of the department and the services provided, including the introduction of a joint replacement programme,” Dayerizadeh said.
SMMC said the introduction of Orthopaedic services at its facility provides accessible care to patients in St. Maarten and surrounding islands. Services encompass patient consultations, surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, education on preventative measures and rehabilitation treatments.
The Orthopaedic Clinic is located in SMMC and patients who wish to make an appointment can call tel. 543-1111 ext. 1300 or 1310. Appointments can be made from Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm. Social and Health Insurances SZV patients are requested to obtain a referral letter from their family doctor before visiting the Orthopaedic Clinic.
