SMMC specialists to host health educational lectures | THE DAILY HERALD

CAYHILL–St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) will be hosting a series of academic lectures at the hospital’s court yard on Saturday, November 24, and on Saturday, December 1, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

The lectures were developed by medical specialists of the hospital to further educate persons in the community about a range of health-related matters. “The medical specialists of SMMC wanted to reach out to the public to promote health awareness within our communities and thus making the first steps toward disease prevention,” Secretary of SMMC’s Medical Staff Board Dr A. Jurgensen said. “Collectively, the medical specialists decided the best way to do so is through educational lectures where the general public can attend.”

George; “Why do I not get pregnant,” by Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr. Patricia Roumans; “Asthma, myths and facts” by paediatrician Dr. T. Morvan and “Eczema” by dermatologist Dr. F. Valverde.
