Traffic in and round Philipsburg and in and out of Pointe Blanche is choked today, Wednesday. The massive traffic jam is caused by a slow, ongoing underground cable project out of Pointe Blanche and the increase vehicle movement to and from Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facilities. Three large cruise ships are in port. The underground cabling project has narrowed a section of the road into an out of Pointe Blanche to just one lane. The cutting open of the road is slated to continue until the Freedom Fighter Roundabout across from Sundial School. These John Halley photos show the situation at Emmaplein and on Cannegieter Street.
