PHILIPSBURG–St. Joseph Primary School students carted off the first and second place spots in the 2018 World Oral Health Day Art Competition.

Third place went to Montessori School. The Health Ministry’s Collective Prevention Services (CPS) said in a press release on Thursday that the art competition had been “very successful.” A total of seven primary schools participated.

World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on March 20. It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues surrounding oral health and the importance of oral hygiene.

CPS thanked all the participating primary schools, pupils, teachers and parents and encouraged them to “keep up the good work.”

The competition was one of several activities held to mark World Oral Health Day. Another activity was several free dental consultations.
