SURFACE WINDS:

Tonight through Sunday evening: Northeast to east with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 24 miles per hour with occasional higher gusts.

SYNOPSIS:

A surge of moisture approaching the region ahead of Tropical Storm Beryl will account for an increase in cloudiness and showers across the local area.
Marine conditions are currently deteriorating and rough seas are expected to begin affecting local waters from tomorrow. A small craft advisory will be issued tomorrow morning. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate        WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: 
At 5pm, tropical storm Beryl was located near latitude 12.17 North, longitude 52.7 West or about 780 miles southeast of St. Maarten. Beryl continues to move toward the west northwest near 17 mph. Maximum sustained winds have further decreased to 50 mph with higher gusts. On this approach the center of Beryl is expected to pass about 122 miles south of St. Maarten early Monday.
A tropical storm watch is effect for St. Maarten. Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and keep informed on the progress of this system.  MDS will continue to monitor tropical storm Beryl and keep the public updated.

OUTLOOK through Monday evening: Partly cloudy, becoming increasingly cloudy and windy with scattered showers.
