PHILIPSBURG/MIAMI–The official St. Maarten team consisting of the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau (STB) and St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) attending the Ubersoca Cruise has signed a two-year cross-promotion agreement with the popular event.

SCDF President Alston Lourens said on Monday that destination St. Maarten and St. Maarten Carnival in particular have received terrific exposure during the event. Together with the STB, he said, future plans will be tailored to take full advantage of everything Ubersoca offers in terms of exposure for the island not only during the cruises, but in the months leading up to them.

Lourens also announced that Sandrena Harris, an Anguillian student living in the UK, is the first winner of an all-expense paid trip to Carnival 2019, “Carnival 50.” Almost 3,000 Ubersoca Cruise guests on the first sail (there are two sails) had the opportunity to sign up for a chance to win. The winner was picked and announced by Lourens during the Last Lap Concert Finale over the weekend.

Ubersoca Cruise is the largest soca festival at sea. The five-day, four-night cruise experience fuses the energy and excitement of Carnival with the feel of a luxury cruise to create an experience beyond music. It features non-stop soca fetes and the best soca entertainers in the world.

With more than 45 events, including a pre-party, live concerts, themed-parties, mas, a J’ouvert, sports competitions, comedy shows, pool parties and panel discussions, Ubersoca Cruise is the ultimate carnival experience.
