St. Martin asked to submit projects for FDVA grants | THE DAILY HERALD

MARIGOT–The Associative Life Development Fund “Fonds pour le Developpement de la Vie Associative” FDVA created in 2011 is a financial mechanism of the French State with an objective to contribute to the development of associations through the awarding of grants and financial support for the training of volunteers, elected officials or activity leaders.

Through the 2018 Finance Act, this fund was replenished by the Parliamentary Reserve and the endowment from Guadeloupe for a total 454,847 euros of which 118,626 is for St. Barthélémy and 125,008 for St. Martin.

The decree of June 8, 2018, added two new funding components: support or implementation of projects or activities created under the development of new human services and the overall financing of their activities.

In a separate communiqué, the Ministry of Oversea Territories has awarded a grant of 2.5 million euros to the Collectivités of St. Martin and St. Barths for 2018 from the Exceptional Investment Funds FEI.

The objective of this aid is to co-finance public investment programmes in the areas of infrastructure. The breakdown of the grant is 500,000 euros for the construction of the Gustavia medical and social centre – 27.78 per cent of the total cost – and 2 million euros for the renovation of the Cultural Center of Grand Case, or 85.11 per cent of the total cost.
