ST. EUSTATIUS–State Secretary of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops was not able to climb in The Quill National Park on Monday because he was feeling “under the weather.”
Instead the state secretary’s delegation climbed the volcano crater in the company of Deputy Government Commissioner of St. Eustatius Mervyn Stegers.
The group was guided by director of the St. Eustatius National Park STENAPA Foundation Erik Bowman and STENAPA park ranger Rupnor “Jobo” Redan. The group climbed The Quill and descended into the crater and explored some sections of the national park.
After making their way back down The Quill, State Secretary Knops joined the group to travel to the Mike Van Putten Youth Centre/Lion’s Den for the Kids Council.
The delegation then visited the Buzzy Bee Inn day-care centre and met with director Zuwena Suares. They also visited the Chapel Piece project for senior residents.
