ST. EUSTATIUS–St. Eustatius’ 54th carnival celebration, set for this July, is chock full of activities and revelry. The majority of the events will be in Mike van Putten Youth Center (Lions Den) based on the recently released schedule.
The celebration kicks off on Tuesday, July 17, with the T-shirt Madness jump-up.
The second annual King of Kings Show featuring contestants vying to be crowned Carnival King is on Wednesday, July 18.
“Battle of the Future 4” showcasing youth talents is on Thursday, July 19.
The Senior Road March Show is on Friday, July 20, followed by the International Night on Saturday, July 21 and the Balloon Spectacular Parade on Sunday, July 22.
The Junior Queen Pageant will be staged on Monday, July 23, Youth Night on Tuesday, July 24 and another International Night on Wednesday, July 25.
After a year hiatus, the Senior Queen Pageant will take centre stage on Thursday, July 26.
The Big Bacchanal Friday (#BBF) is on Friday, July 27. Jouvert Morning starts right after the show at 4:00am on Saturday, July 28.
Also on July 28, the five troupes in Carnival 2018 will take to the streets for the First Day Parade at 3:00pm. The reigning parade champions Caribbean Tribes, led by Julissa Woodley and Sharday Bennett, seek to defend its title.
The second-day parade on Sunday, July 29, will see troupes and others take over the streets. The 2018 carnival parade champion will be crowned at the close of the parade.
The curtains come down on the fete on Monday, July 30, with the Last Lap jump-up.
