Royal Netherlands Navy ship “Holland” will visit St. Maarten this Friday. Acting Governor Reynold Groeneveldt will welcome the ship from Fort Amsterdam.

The patrol vessel will perform a sail-past near Fort Amsterdam At 8:45am and will fire the traditional salute to the flag of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and to the Governor. “HNLMS Holland” is deployed as guard ship for the Royal Netherlands Navy in the Caribbean for anti-drugs operations, to assist the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard, and to provide assistance in case of humanitarian relief operations. The ship will host an open house for all interested people on Friday and on Sunday, June 17. Persons can visit the ship for a tour on board from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
