Steering, technical committees to be formed for PPRN consultation | THE DAILY HERALD

MARIGOT–Following the unanimously negative opinion rendered by the Territorial Council on July 17 on application of the natural risks prevention plan PPRN by the State for St. Martin, President Daniel Gibbs with his majority party has decided to implement an alternative consultation method.

The aim is to work on solutions based on expert advice and experience that takes into account the realities of the territory to serve the people of St. Martin and promote responsible economic development.

This new consultation will be launched at the end of August and will take the following form: a steering committee or Comité de Pilotage COPIL – a political body on which representatives of chambers, federations, major associations and professionals will sit; and secondly, theme-based technical committees that will be open to the public and composed of technicians and professionals.

Through this action, the Collectivité wishes to contribute to the development of a PPRN adapted to realities of the territory with the contribution of as many people as possible, so the State can take into account the proposals of St. Martiners.
