Still no arrests made in double homicide case

PHILIPSBURG–Detectives are still investigating the double homicide that took place in Sucker Garden on January 6 and led to the deaths of Taheba “Mablow” York (31) and Sabrina Martes (23). Police continue to interview witnesses and call on anyone who can provide information about the brutal shooting.

  The shooting took place on Sucker Garden Road near the third bridge close to 11:00pm. Neighbours found the lifeless bodies of the man and woman in a vehicle and immediately contacted the police. Patrols arrived on the scene just after 11:00pm and found the two not showing any signs of life. Police quickly cordoned off the area and started their investigation.

  Some three months later police continue to piece together what might have taken place that Friday night. According to neighbours, loud shots blasted from York’s yard. Investigators saw bullet holes throughout his vehicle and found Martes next to him in the car. The two were officially pronounced dead by the doctor on call and transported to the funeral home.
