MARIGOT–SXM Horizon in collaboration with the Collectivité are presenting a Kids’ Village on the Marigot waterfront this coming Sunday, August 27, the last event to be organised by district five before school starts on September 4.
The event, the second in the Summer Festival, was introduced at a press conference Wednesday attended by President of the Collectivité’s Culture Commission, Yolande Sylvestre.
Fun activities for children begin at 3:00pm and finish at 7:00pm, in time for the movie screening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. There are no entrance fees for the activities or for the movie which is an initiative of the Collectivité to show movies in each district throughout the month of August.
Funtopia will again be participating in the activities and presenting the Funtopia Dancers. There will be Bouncy Castles, face painting, Disney character appearances, a Caribbean mime show, dancing and much more. DJ Vybz is also providing music and entertainment.
The Respekt Band will be performing from 9:00pm to 10:00pm.
District five representative Paul Whit encouraged families and children to come out and enjoy the event. Yolande Sylvestre emphasised on the close collaboration the Collectivité has with associations to make these events possible.
