CANADA/AIRPORT–This summer for the very first time, Sunwing Vacations will offer holiday packages to St. Maarten from Vancouver. Available weekly from May 18 to August 24, via Toronto, the tour operator offers West coast travellers easy access to St. Maarten, described by the airline as a “tropical island of contrasts.”

Along with exploring St. Maarten this summer, residents of Vancouver could also take advantage of two other flight connections from Vancouver to the Caribbean. Commencing May 21 and operating until August 27, a new Saturday service via Toronto will connect vacationers with the sandy beaches of Jamaica.

Sunwing will also be offering the popular Vancouver connection (via Toronto) to Punta Cana for a second summer season running; beginning with a Thursday weekly service with departures between May 26 and August 25, and rising to a twice weekly service with the addition of a convenient Sunday departure between June 13 and August 28, 2016 inclusive.

All Sunwing vacation packages include flights with Sunwing Airlines where travellers can enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a Hot & Fresh Bistro Meal™ served with a choice of red or white wine, and relax with in-flight entertainment as part of the airline’s award-winning Champagne Service. They’ll also benefit from a generous complimentary 23 kg baggage allowance on their first piece of checked luggage.

  1. Ok this is a great first step to focus on the traditional slow months (I wonder how much our officials had anything to do with attracting this service or that Sunwing just decided to expand).

We must follow up with on-line campaigns on the West Coast to trigger demand and hopefully encourage a longer service from this charter.

Also must do more to stimulate travel from key segments (higher income demographic) from Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil.

  2. Excellent news!

Now to get them to have this a year-round charter service. We are competing against the big boys (Jamaica, Cuba and Dom Rep) so all hands on deck!!
