PHILIPSBURG/MARIGOT–Star Ocean Supermarket in Dutch Quarter and Wing Li Supermarket in Middle Region were robbed on Wednesday afternoon by a man brandishing a firearm. In both cases the culprit fled on a scooter after the robbery, according to acting police spokesman Inspector Steven Carty.
“When patrols arrived at the scene they were given a description of the culprit. French authorities were contacted and they were able to arrest the culprit for several robberies he had committed on the French side. Dutch authorities were contacted regarding the arrest,” said Carty.
