MARIGOT–Miss Teen St. Martin 2017-2018 Tasyanna Clifton made history in St. Kitts on Saturday, December 30, 2017, as the first contestant from St. Martin to be crowned Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Queen 2017-2018.
In front of an audience of hundreds, Tasyanna demonstrated grace, confidence, intellect and natural talent in every segment of the pageant at the Marriott Hotel ballroom, competing against contestants from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St. Kitts and St. Lucia.
Besides being crowned Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Queen 2017-2018, Tasyanna walked away with the titles of Best Theatrical Appearance (which includes speech) and Best Evening Wear.
“It was such an honour to be one amongst the many supporters present at the pageant to cheer on Tasyanna,” remarked Festivités Carnavalesque de St. Martin (FCDSM) President Luciana Raspail. “Though the challenges were great in preparing for the pageant, Tasyanna along with her team at Sky Consultancy gave it their all and made St. Martin and its people proud.”
Queen Tasyanna returned to St. Martin on Sunday, December 31, 2017, to a rapturous welcome at Princess Juliana International Airport SXM from her many supporters. In the crowd to welcome her home were President of the Collectivité’s Culture Commission, Yolande Sylvestre, FCDSM members, Euphoria members, reigning pageant queens from both Dutch and French sides, family and friends.
“On behalf of FCDSM, I would like to congratulate Tasyanna Clifton for her dedicated attitude when it comes to representing St. Martin,” Raspail said. “We would also like to thank Sky Consultancy, Euphoria, Sign Triple Nine, Office du Tourisme de St. Martin, Soualiga Media and all stakeholders involved for making Tasyanna’s journey and triumph at Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen smooth and worthwhile.”
