The use of safety gear | THE DAILY HERALD

A construction worker fell off the roof of a tall building in Marigot Friday morning but escaped serious injury as his fall was stopped by a tether and security gear.

The incident took place on Rue Général de Gaulle. The 40-year-old worker fell a couple of metres into the interior of the building before the tether stopped him falling further. The Fire Brigade (pompiers) tended to the worker who suffered only light injuries. To date this is the eighth accident of this type to have occurred since the beginning of July according to “Le Pélican” newspaper. (Photo “Le Pélican”).
