The Westin closed ‘until further notice’

DAWN BEACH–The Westin Dawn Beach Resort and Spa St. Maarten will be closed “until further notice,” according to a statement from Marriott International. The closure is a result of damage to the property by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
The Westin is one of six Marriott Internationals luxury resorts to close until further notice.

Efforts to get more information about the effects of the local resort closing were not fruitful up to press time.
“Efforts are underway to fully restore operations [in the Caribbean – Ed.], but some hotels may have temporary interruption or limited availability of guest services,” Marriot said in the issued statement.
Those not operating until further notice aside from the local resort are The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, Frenchman’s Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort, and The Westin St. John Resort Villas, all in the United States (US) Virgin Islands; Scrub Island Resort, Spa and Marina in the British Virgin Islands, and W Retreat and Spa on Vieques Island in Puerto Rico.
