Thirty persons take advantage of breast cancer examinations | THE DAILY HERALD

EUSTATIUS–Golden Rock Cancer Awareness Foundation (GRCAF) organized breast examinations at Queen Beatrix Medical Centre (QBMC) in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Secretary Reina Lijfrock said 32 persons had signed up for screening, but two dropped.

QBMC’s medical doctors George Odongo, Marije Veerman and Fazal Baboe carried out the examinations between October 5 and October 25.

GRCAF wants to stress to everyone that early detection saves lives and urges persons to always be aware of their own body.

Foundation members were treated to dinner at Boardwalk Café on the invitation of owner/manager Werner Leschanowsky.

On Saturday, November 3, Daniela Richardson of Blue Island Gem Events will be holding a Breast Cancer Benefit Gala Dinner at Lion’s Den. Proceeds will go toward GRCAF. Tickets for the event are available at GEM Enterprises and Sjudiez Fashion Store.
