PHILIPSBURG–Musical super group Red Eye Crew (REC) arrived back in
St. Maarten on Monday evening from a two-day performance at the Zumba Instructor Convention Zincon in Orlando, Florida. “The trip was amazing and it was great to see thousands of people singing our songs while we were on stage,” said REC leader Skellet.
The group performed on stage with soca legend Machel Montano and Latin superstar Daddy Yankee. REC song “Can you keep up” has been getting major airplay around the world during Zumba sessions. Videos of dancers practicing Zumba have gone viral on Instagram and Facebook.

“We met with different groups during our visit and we will be traveling to different parts of the world later this year. Machel was even amazed with our performance and we might be collaborating with him very soon. This is what we love to do and to have the opportunity to do it in front of thousands of people around the world is really humbling,” Skellet said on Monday.
The convention had more than 8,000 dancers, more than 100,000 viewers on its livestream and 8,000,000 people following their social media accounts. Zincon members from around the globe have gathered in Zumba instructors from around the world took the opportunity to meet Red Eye Crew.
Orlando since 2008 for several action-packed days of education, networking and fun. Now celebrating its 10th year, the Zumba Convention is the place to be to connect with thousands of fellow members and learn how to become the best instructor possible.
REC thanked the St. Martin Tourist Office for coming along on the trip and said the convention has opened more doors for the group.
