COLE BAY– A white Hyundai i10 with licence plate R-1862 was stopped and controlled by police close to 10:00pm Monday during a general vehicle control at the border roundabout on Union Road.
There were three men in the car when police stopped it and a pistol was found under the driver’s seat during a search of the vehicle. This firearm was immediately confiscated and the three men, who could not give acceptable explanations as to whom the firearm belonged, were arrested on the spot. They were all taken to the Philipsburg police station where they were detained for further investigation.
The vehicle was also towed to the police station for further investigation.
