PHILIPSBURG–First time author Sergio Sno (Author) will host a public launch of his book, titled Tips for Our Youth, in Philipsburg Jubilee Library on Friday at 7:00pm.
Sno’s book was born from his experiences as he worked with young people in his native country Suriname and on St. Maarten. After losing his mother at age 13, Sno said he had to fend for himself. He did odd jobs to earn money for school and other necessities.
“Life was very hard for me, but, I never gave up. I always had the belief that I could make it in life,” he wrote in the preface of his book.
Sno said it was God who inspired him to collate the life tips into a book.
Vice Chairwoman of the Council of Advice Mavis Brooks-Salmon and retired pastor Wycliffe Smith are scheduled to speak at the book launch.
Tips for our Youth will be on sale at the launch and attendees can get their copy autographed by Sno at the reception.
