Top lunch

Avantika Restaurant is the latest business to join the Pop Tops for Wheel Chairs campaign. They have joined with Rotary Mid-Isle and the Little League Player Development Team to collect can pop tops. The tabs are dense aluminium, perfect for recycling. The money collected for the scrap metal is used to buy a wheel chair for a person in need.  To celebrate the new partnership the Thai restaurant owner Anish Chugani invited the two groups to the Simpson Bay location for lunch. Rotary Mid-Isle President Anjali Manek and Secretary Denise Antrobus quickly organized the outing for the children, ages 12 and under. Lunch was served and enjoyed by all. In fact, so much food was cooked that the leftovers were brought back to Player Development and the following day the children who could not attend had a hot meal.
