“Let's welcome this decision with enthusiasm and seize the opportunity,” the Club stated in a press release. “Since the beginning of the crisis, Tourism Club professionals have been increasingly active, contributing to consultative meetings. We would like to thank all the public institutions concerned for helping to unblock this situation.

“We call on all tourism professionals to respect the sanitary instructions that correspond to our commitments, both to the authorities and to our clients. They will be communicated to all members of the Tourism Club next week. We believe in better days for a territory with such great potential.”

The Club added that Belmond La Samanna Hotel will consider re-opening in February 2021.

The Club expressed its appreciation to Préfète Déléguée Sylvie Feucher and her services for their understanding of the one-pillar economy, and to President of the Collectivité Daniel Gibbs and his teams for their determination in supporting the island’s tourism industry.
