Trained firefighters | THE DAILY HERALD

Monday, July 30, eleven members of the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Department BKCN completed their “ELO Manschap A” training with their final practical exam covering technical assistance and control of hazardous substances.

All participants completed the exam with a positive result. In January, BKCN started training for the exam; the first one provided in an Electronic Learning Environment (ELO). After six months of intensive training, during which participants took five theoretical tests, eight practical tests and two practical exams, the training programme was completed successfully. The department now has 11 newly-trained firefighters. Seven of them are working in Bonaire, three in Saba and one in St. Eustatius.
